Connecting to the network is a must for the program to function fully. It allows you to search and download freely. Note, you can still download Torrents without connecting to the network.

Getting Connected

When you load Warez it should connect automatically. If you look in the bottom left corner of the program you will see a coloured light (red, yellow or green). This is your connection status, and is explained later. The first stage is always red with the word "Initialization", this is just while the program is loading up. Depending on the speed of your computer you will either see the word "Connecting" or "Disconnected". If you are Disconnected you need to need to connect by going to Main -> Connect in the Main menu.

3 Connection Stages

Once you have loaded Warez P2P there will be a message and symbol in the bottom left corner that gives you your connection status. This is important as depending on its status, it affects your features on Warez P2P.

Red status

This means you are not connected. If the word "Disconnected" is displayed, you need to connect by going to Main -> Connect in the Main menu. Now the word will change to "Connecting". When you start Warez it will usually display this before it goes on to another status. If it does not change after a minute then go to Getting Connected or Problems Connecting.

Green status

This means you are fully connected to the network and you have no NAT/firewall problems. You want the number of peers to be as close to your max connections as possible. The more peers you are connected to the better your searches and downloads will be. Once the status is green you are ready to go, and the more you use the program, the higher the number of peers will get.

Yellow status

A yellow status means you are connected to the network but you have a problem with NAT/firewall on your router. You can still search and download but it is likely to be significantly slower. Do not panic, there should always be a way to solve this problem, check Problems Connecting below.

Problems Connecting

There are three main solutions to getting a green connection for Warez:

• Set up port forwarding (for yellow status connections).
• Software firewall configuration (for yellow and red status connections).
• Hardware firewall configuration (for yellow and red status connections).
