This is a quick guide to get you started with WAR3Z.

Basic Usage

Begin Searching

To begin your search for files, first click the search button in the top left of your WarezP2P client.

In the SearchFor.gif input field under the Navigation window, type in the name of the file you wish to search for. Press the Search button just below the input field to begin the search.

WarezP2P, also gives you the option to search for multiple files at the same time. To take advantage of this option, simply type in a new Search item in the SearchFor.gif input field and press the Search button again. You should notice a new tab appear below the files found menu with the new item you have just begun to search for.

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search feature can be used to find the specific file you are looking for, without having find it manually amongst many other files you are not interested in.

To begin using the Advanced Search feature, click on the expand.gif expand button located next to the Search button.
Next, select the type of file you are looking for in the "Search For" menu.
Now fill out the remaining fields with what you know about the file you are looking for. Such as: album, artist, song, & category.

Sharing

The most important part of any peer-to-peer network is the generosity of its users. Without sharing, there would be no files for you to download. So take the time and share your files with the users of WarezP2P.

To begin sharing your files with other users:

  • First, click on the Main.gif menu at the top left of the program window and click on Preferences .
  • Next, go to Manual Fileshare and select the folders you wish to share in the menu to the right.
  • After you select the folder(s) you wish to share with the WarezP2P network, click the OK button. You will then be returned to the original screen and WarezP2P will begin Hashing the files contained in the folder(s) you selected to share. Once it is finished Hashing, you have successfully added your files to the WarezP2P Network.

Library

The Library is an easy way to manage the files you are sharing with the WarezP2P network.
To Share or Un-Share certain files in the Library menu, click on the check.gif check box located to the left of each file. This will make individual files visible or invisible to the peers on the network.

Proxies

Proxy servers can help protect the identities of users by acting as a "go-between" amongst P2P users.
To add Proxy Servers to WarezP2P, go back to the Main.gif menu and back to Preferences then to Proxy under the Network menu. If you do not have a Proxy Server to add already, you can easily find one by searching Google.
Setup the Proxy you chose accordingly.

Downloading

Beginning the Download

To begin downloading, simply double click on the file you wish to download and the File Type icon should become an icon that looks similar to this one. FileIcon.gif

Transfer Menu

To see the status of your transfers, go to the transfer menu by clicking the Transfer button.

From here you can perform such actions as Pause, Resume, Cancel, and other transfer related options. As well as being able to monitor the speeds and other properties of your download(s).
On each file there is an expandFile.gif Expand button that will allow you to see each user that you are downloading your file(s) from.

Uploads

On the Transfer window of your client, there are two fields. The upper field is where you can see and control your downloads. The lower field is where you are able to monitor uploads to other users. Here you are able perform many of the same actions as with the downloads.


Preferences (Settings)

  • General
    • Language - The user is able to choose between 7 different languages: English, Russian, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, & 1337
    • Auto Start On Windows Startup - Toggles the option of WarezP2P of starting up when the user logs onto Windows.
    • Auto Connect - This option connects WarezP2P to the network upon connecting to the internet.
    • Minimize To Tray - When this option is enabled, WarezP2P will go to the Tray when the client is minimized.
    • Use As Default Bittorent Client - Sets WarezP2P as your Default Torrent Client.
    • Use External Player - When opening audio or video files, this option will use an external player such as Windows Media Player.



  • Personal
    • Nickname - Changes the user's Screen Name on the network.
    • Network Type - Set's the user's connection speed that is viewable to other users.



  • Extra
    • Show Transfer Percentage - Displays or Hides the Transfer Amount of the files on the Transfers page.
    • Block Large Hints -
    • Display Notification When New File Arrives - Displays a popup icon above the Tray when a file transfer is completed.
    • Enable Copywrite Filter -
    • Recently Played Limit - Sets the Recently Played history limit amount.
    • Favorites Limit - Sets the amount of favorites the user is able to store.
    • System Tray Hint Transparency Value - While downloading files, the user is able to check the status of the transfers by simply hovering over the WarezP2P Tray Icon. This option sets the transparency for this feature.

  • Network Settings

By changing your Network Settings you are able to set variables to control the data flow between you and the WarezP2P Network. To find the Network Settings go to the Main.gif menu -> Preferences -> Network Settings

    • Max Connections - The maximum number of simultaneous up-stream & down-stream connections your client will allow.
    • Encryption -
    • Compression -
    • Listen Port - The port the client uses to connect to the WarezP2P Network.

  • Proxy

Proxy servers can help protect the identities of users by acting as a "go-between" amongst P2P users.
To add Proxy Servers to WarezP2P, go back to the Main.gif menu and back to Preferences then to Proxy under the Network menu. If you do not have a Proxy Server to add already, you can easily find one by searching Google.

  • Transfer
    • Max Connections - The maximum number of simultaneous up-stream & down-stream connections your client will allow. If you have a slower internet connection and are running other internet applications, you may want to change the value of this to avoid slow down your connection with uploads & downloads.
    • Download Rate - The maximum bit rate you want to download your files at. If you have a slower internet connection and are running other internet applications, you may want to change the value of this to avoid slow down your connection with downloads.
    • Upload Rate - The maximum bit rate you want to upload your files to other users on the network. While it is suggested to run it at Unlimited, changing this value to a lower number may eliminate some connection problems experienced while using WarezP2P.

    • Recently Downloaded - Sets the number of files showed in the Recently Downloaded log, located on the left Navigation menu in the Transfer menu.
    • Max Downloads Count - Sets the maximum number of simultaneous downloads.
    • Max Uploads Count - Sets the maximum number of simultaneous uploads.

  • Fileshare Settings
    • Max Size (Mb) - The maximum amount of space you wish to share with the P2P network.
    • Max Files - The maximum number of files you wish to share with the P2P network.
    • Download Folder - The directly you wish your downloaded files to be stored.
    • Audio File Sharing - Toggles the sharing of Audio Files (.mp3,.wav,.mid, etc) on or off.
    • Documents Sharing - Toggles the sharing of Document Files (.txt,.pdf,.rtf, etc) on or off.
    • Image Files Sharing - Toggles the sharing of Image Files (.jpg,.gif,.png, etc) on or off.
    • Software Sharing - Toggles the sharing of Software on or off.
    • Video Files Sharing - Toggles the sharing of Video Files (.avi, .mpg, .mp4, etc.) on or off.
    • Other Sharing - Toggles the sharing of any file type not listed, on or off.



  • Manual Fileshare

Using Manual Fileshare the user is able to specifically pick the folders he or she wishes to share with the P2P network.

  • Autoscan

This feature searches the user's hard drive(s) for folders that would be acceptable to share on the network.

  • Autorename Download



  • Search Settings
    • Mark Already Downloaded Files - Marks files that have already been downloaded during a search.
    • Filter Executable And Potentially Dangerous Files - Filters out software and zip folders that could potentially contain malicious software.
    • History Capacity -
    • Show Advanced Option - Toggles the Advanced Search Option Settings
      • Detect and Highlight Availability - Pings the search results to see if the file is downloadable at the time of search.



Other Features

CD-Ripping

WarezP2P has this built-in-feature to copy tracks from existing CDs to the user's hard drive and thereby making them available to the other users on the network.

To use WarezP2P CD-Ripping:

  • Insert and audio CD then click on the CD-Ripping icon located on the top menu bar between Theater and CD-Burning. The new window will automatically get the Artist, Album, and Song Names on the CD
    • This feature is only available if the CD contains the data already. If the CD does not contain ID data or you simply want to change the existing ID Data click on the editrip.gif ID3 Settings button to change the ID Data.
  • Next on the top right of the new window, select either .mp3 or .ogg as the file type for the saved files. Just under these options, select the bitrate for the saved files.
  • Finally, click the rip.gif start button at the top to begin ripping to your Warez Folder.


Media Player

WarezP2P includes an integrated player that enables a user to check files without loading a new program to play files in order to save system memory, reduce windows on the user’s screen, or simply just to make things easier for the user.
